A. As of March 2015, the fee for instruction at NFTI is INR 3,640,000/- + Service Tax.
A. NFTI has hostel accommodations on campus at the Birsi Airport in Gondia. Each flat has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. 4 cadets may be assigned to each flat. There are separate hostel buildings for male and female cadets.
A. As of September 2015, the monthly cost of hostel accommodations at NFTI is INR 10,000 + Service Tax. The hostel accommodation fee includes electricity, air conditioning, cable TV, and daily housekeeping. Daily laundry service may be arranged at an additional cost.
A. NFTI has a separate cafeteria building on campus. NFTI contracts with a vendor for providing 4 meals each day: breakfast, lunch, high tea, and dinner. Cadets pay the vendor directly for food service but all cadets must participate in the food service program. The cafeteria menu includes both veg and non-veg servings.
A. The theoretical knowledge portion of the CPL training at NFTI consists of a minimum of 615 hours of training covering all required subject areas. The flying training portion of the training consists of a minimum of 200 flight hours: 185 single engine and 15 multi-engine. The synthetic trainer portion of the program consists of 30 hours, 20 hours single engine and 10 hours multi-engine. Theoretical training is typically conducted 6 days a week. Flight training is conducted 6-7 days a week.
A. NFTI has numerous internal examinations in each subject area that must be passed by every cadet. The DGCA requires CPL applicants to pass 4 theoretical exams: technical general, meteorology, navigation, and regulations. Cadets must also pass a radio telephony examination given by the WPC.
A. The CPL program may be completed in 17 to 19 months but may take longer depending on results on the examinations. However, many motivated cadets at NFTI complete the program in less time.
A. As of September 2015, NFTI had 14 total aircraft, 12 single engine and 2 multi-engine. NFTI uses Diamond DA40 aircraft for single-engine training and Diamond DA42 aircraft for multi-engine training. NFTI has 2 synthetic trainers that match the DA40 and DA42. All aircraft at NFTI are glass cockpit equipped and utilize Garmin G1000 avionics.
As of September 2015, NFTI had 14 flying instructors and 6 ground instructors.
A. NFTI has a world-class campus at Birsi Airport. There are 10 hostel buildings, an Administration/Classroom building, Sports Complex, and Cafeteria. The campus is beautifully landscaped and includes football, basketball, volleyball and badminton fields. The Sports Complex includes a squash court, billiard tables, game tables, table tennis, and a fully equipped gym. The campus has a Tuck Shop for student shopping and a 24 hour ATM. The campus is completely enclosed by a security wall and has 24 hour guards. All visitors must enter and register at the main gate. Security cameras cover the entire campus
A. NFTI will transport cadets to and from the Gondia train station upon arrival, completion of the program and when travelling to take required examinations. Transportation to Gondia for shopping is provided on Sundays. Transportation is provided whenever required from the NFTI campus to the flight line for flight activities.

A. As of September 2015, NFTI has graduated 220 cadets with Commercial Pilot Licenses.
A. NFTI CPL graduates are working for nearly all the airlines in India. A number of NFTI graduates are also flying for Qatar Airlines. NFTI provides placement assistance for all graduates but does not guarantee graduates a job.
IndiGo has established a special cadet program at NFTI for cadets wanting to join IndiGo as Junior First Officers. As of September 2015, 33 cadets from the NFTI IndiGo Cadet Program were fully qualified Junior First Officers at IndiGo. An additional 102 cadets were undergoing CPL training.
